Tower placement matters more than raw tower count because enemies follow fixed lanes and spend different amounts of time inside each firing radius. Put high-damage towers near bends, intersections, and long straightaways. Save cheap towers for leak control near the castle gate, where they can finish weakened enemies efficiently.

Upgrade a tower when it already covers a high-traffic section of the path and fires during most of the wave. Build a new tower when a lane lacks coverage or fast enemies escape untouched. Strong runs usually mix both choices instead of spending all gold on one oversized defense point.

Fast enemies punish players who stack slow, heavy-damage towers too early. Use quick-firing towers along early bends, then add slowing or area-damage towers where groups cluster. Keep at least one reliable finisher near the end of the route so damaged runners cannot slip through after the main kill zone.

Later waves become harder because enemy health, speed, armor behavior, or group density increases faster than basic tower damage. The game expects players to upgrade important towers, cover overlapping firing zones, and avoid wasting gold on low-impact placements. Poor early economy often causes failure several waves later.
