What's in this guide

What Is the Game R.E.P.O. and What Do You Actually Do?
In R.E.P.O. Game online discussions, the core loop is unmistakable: you and up to five friends pilot fragile salvage robots into dark, monster-filled locations to retrieve valuable objects and physically carry them back to an extraction point — without smashing them. Every vase, TV or bust has a cash value, and every wall bump, drop or panicked sprint chips away at that value. It is a co-op horror game built entirely around careful, cooperative object-hauling under pressure.
That physics-driven greed is what separates R.E.P.O. gameplay from typical scavenger horror. You extend a grabber arm, lift loot, and coordinate turns through tight doorways while enemies patrol nearby. Meet the extraction quota and you advance; fall short or die and the run collapses.
R.E.P.O. is a paid PC Early Access title developed and published by Semiwork for Windows, released on Steam on 26 February 2025. No official free browser version exists — any "R.E.P.O. game online" portal build is an unofficial third-party adaptation, not the Semiwork original.

Core R.E.P.O. Gameplay: Extract Loot Without Breaking It
Each run drops your crew into one of the current levels. Semiwork's own store FAQ describes an evolving Early Access build with roughly 4 levels, 29 enemies, plus many items, weapons and upgrades. Your job is to hunt tagged valuables, grab them with your robot's telekinetic arm, and haul them to the extraction shell before the quota timer or the monsters catch you.
The Quota and Value System
Loot is scored by condition. A pristine grand piano is worth far more than a cracked one, so how you carry matters as much as what you carry. Cash funds upgrades and equipment between rounds, feeding the run-based progression.
Enemies and Fear Management
Monsters react to noise and light. Dropping heavy items, shouting over proximity voice chat, or bunching up draws them in — turning teammates into liabilities as fast as they are helpers.
R.E.P.O. Game Controls and How to Play
Semiwork has not published a fixed control chart, so verify bindings in the in-game settings menu. The essentials of R.E.P.O. game how to play are: WASD to move, mouse to aim your grab beam, hold a button to lift and carry objects, and use proximity voice chat to coordinate. Rebind everything from the options screen before your first serious run.
Co-op Team Tactics for Higher Payouts
- Assign a carrier and a scout — one hauls the fragile piece while another clears the path and watches for enemies.
- Nudge, don't fling — small controlled grabs keep valuables at full cash value.
- Bank early — extract high-value items first so a late ambush doesn't wipe your whole haul.
- Mind your voice — proximity chat is a stealth tool; whisper near patrols.
Legit Versions vs. Fake R.E.P.O. Clones
Because R.E.P.O. went viral, impersonators appeared. Titles like "REPO Ghost Haul" and "REPO Lost Signals" have been flagged as knockoffs, not the real horror hit from Steam. The authentic game is the Semiwork release on Steam — check the developer name before buying or downloading anything claiming to be R.E.P.O. game pc or R.E.P.O. game steam.
What's Coming Next in Early Access
Semiwork's FAQ lists planned additions including player customization, meta progression, more story elements, upgrades, equipment, levels and enemies. PC Gamer's Elie Gould called R.E.P.O. "a fantastic co-op horror game that can hold its own against big shots like Lethal Company." Studio background note: Semiwork's earlier project was the roguelite Voidigo.

At its heart R.E.P.O. remains a nerve-wracking test of steady hands: haul the fragile treasure, keep it intact, and outsmart the dark together. That fragile-loot tension is exactly why crews keep coming back run after run.
