Why a second version is useful

Sudoku implementations differ in the things that actually affect play: how candidate marks are entered, whether mistakes are flagged immediately or left for you to discover, and how difficulty is graded. Those choices change the experience considerably, and a version that suits you is worth more than the notionally harder one. Trying both and keeping the one whose input method you prefer is a reasonable few minutes spent.

There is also a practical reason on filtered connections: the two versions come from different hosting domains, so when one is unreachable the other sometimes is not. A blank play area inside a page that otherwise renders correctly is the signature of the host being refused rather than the game failing.

Undemanding by nature

Like any grid puzzle, this places almost no load on your hardware and needs no live connection once it has loaded. It is turn-based and patient, so a slow machine costs you nothing. Reachability is a decision made by whoever administers your network.
